about

Mindful listening. Sonic entanglements. Consciousness. Connection.

This space is about how we relate to our selves, other sentient beings, and existence at large through sound.

Sound transcends borders... yonic.vibes honors the art of listening and the auditory dimension as a direct path to self-awareness, altered states of consciousness, and connection. It’s a slow, deliberate space inspired by creative and experimental sound practices, sound-centered meditation techniques, and cultural and philosophical perspectives that you can integrate into your daily life and routines.

disclaimer

While lending an ear to the spiritual and symbolic realms, yonic.vibes prioritizes experiential and intellectual exploration over mystical claims. There is not much here on quick self-help fixes or "manifesting" your way out of the present. It is also less interested in the potential of sound-centered meditation as a passive “sound healing” or a path to salvation. Grounded in clarity and curiosity, it is more interested in listening in different fields as a gateway to expanded consciousness and unique ways of relating.

backstory

This is a labor of love and curiosity. A personal, comprehensive, and immersive exploration. It started with my intention to document and share my personal journey and sonic entanglements, with some storytelling and some practical wisdom, as I navigate the tangents of sound and mindfulness.

These sharings bridge the gap between experiential practice and intellectual inquiry. It is part phenomenological research, what is experienced through sound and how it is experienced; part artistic and sound-meditation practice; and part cultural exploration. From secular to spiritual, ancient traditions to modern practices and concepts, I approach the topic with an open mind, heart, and most importantly, open ears...

As a retired management/design consultant and business person; an artist and academic with a background in philosophy, media, arts, and communication; an avid traveler; and a mindfulness practitioner, what nudged me towards a deep journey into these waters was my year-long endeavor towards a Sound-Centered Meditation Teacher Training certificate. Usually, people follow the "sound healing" path after this training and become yoga teachers or the like. I decided to pursue a more experimental and investigative path for a bit and see where it leads.

There are so many voices shouting and whispering for attention, transmitting the same bits of self-transformation and healing messages. However, in the age of AI, instead of mirrors and echoes, I believe what we need is authentic listening and meaningful connection in all our relations.

The journey will go on as long as I am motivated to explore the topic. Maybe a year, maybe more.
